Is a Diplome D'etudes Professionelle valid in the US?

I'm currently a 19y/o student from the Miami in Quebec (Canada) completing a DEP in Computer Graphics. I plan on staying here in Montreal to live, by applying for my papers with this diploma. However, now I am scared that IF I ever do go back to the states, this diploma won't be valid or of any use. Should I be concerned?
