Pacifier???

ok, so i have this pacifier that i usualy only suck on at night. but i was in my room watching a movie on my laptop and my new adopted mother came in and saw me sucking on it. she told me to throw it out and i refused. she tried to pull it away from me and i didn't let her. the reason why i won't let her have it is because it's the only thing i have left from my aunt. i told her this but she told me to throw it out or at least give it to another kid who would need it. what should i do??
