I need a rough estimate on how much it would cost to build a fireplace in my home.?

I'm about to move into an older home with no central heat and air. I have been considering building a fireplace but am unsure as to what the cost might be. The house already has a gas line going into it because there used to be a gas heater. I don't know if this would help bring down the cost or not.
