Is 14 too late to start skating again?

well i skated like 3 or 4 years ago and i got to the point where i can do an ollie. i can still kind of do an ollie but not off a curb or anything :P i REALLY want to start skating again but i am intimidated kind of because where i live there are a load of good skaters my age. how long will it take to get good? where can i practice that is kind of "out of the way"
